Countryside biking, farming & fishing experience with basket boat
8:00 AM: Pick up at hotel then bike to Tra Que village. Stop for a nice visit Chuc Thanh Pagoda, the oldest pagoda in Hoi An, built in 1671 with a great value dated from 17-18 century.
Continue to Tra Que, it is famous for its aromatic herbs, mint and basil. Their leaves are smaller than normal ones and have a special flavor. Visit village, vegetable fields and meet the farmers who work all the seasons of the year. It is a good opportunity to observe the techniques of vegetable gardening. Visit a home gardener (Mr Chinh). He will tell you the story of the history and customs of this charming village as well as of his family.
Continue to Cam Thanh village. Along the way the landscapes of fishing farms and water palmtrees will accompany you. Arrive in Cam Thanh and embark a small round bamboo sampan basket boat. Enjoy crab catching in the water palm trees forest. This is a relaxing moment after hours of biking.
After that take a little rest in the house of fisherman (Mr. Phong) enjoy green tea and foot massage with medicinal herbs that planted in the family garden. Then prepare vegetables and herbs from Tra Que village, join in a small practice of cooking the typical dishes: crispy pancake (meat, shrimp, beansprouts…), spring rolls of Hoi An, Tam Huu, grilled fish in banana leaf… Enjoy the dishes you made.
Return to hotel at the end.
